We have frost and snow here in Northern Ireland. I’m feeling the chill, so I think I’ll be making a steamy hot curry for tea tonight
Hopefully a recipe will follow later, if I manage to remember what I put in it!!!

I’m in a make something from scratch mood today. So far I’ve 2 new jars of lemon curd made to add to the stock pile of preserves for Christmas and there’s yoghurt on the go too
I stumbled on a lovely recipe using haw berries over on Nip it in the Bud so I’ve just been out and raided the hedge at the front of the house (much to the disgust of the watching birds! Don’t worry there’s more than enough to go round.)
Right now I’m off to Mums.
We’re on a baking mission next, home-made sausage rolls and bread. Yummy!
Another first for me at work today, I managed to get stuck in a lift for 45 minutes!
It was an experience to say the least!!
Add to that we’ve had horrible weather here in the UK today, storms, 70mph winds, flooding, you get the idea. *Brrrrrrr!*
I feel a few winter stews and casseroles coming on!
Did I happen to mention that I hate writing assignments?
No?
Well I have 4 of the blasted things to write over the next lot of weeks for my job.
*sigh*
Any tips welcome!
since I last had time to post anything on this blog. So i@m getting back into the swing of things by throwing myself back into a challenge.
Bread.
Yep, simple stuff, handmade, no breadmaker involved. I wanted to see if I could make a decent loaf by hand and in a quicker time than my breadmaker. (It takes up to 5 hours to knead, prove and bake a loaf!!)
So off I went about a half hour ago and knocked up a batch of dough by hand. I used the River Cottage Recipe as featured on “Everyday” last night. So far so good, it’s currently sitting in my red baking bowl proving. Then I’ll knock it back and get ready to bake it in the morning for breakfast. Yum!
Pictures, possibly, maybe if the loaf turns out well (^_^)
